Candle F.A.Q.’s

We hope you love your candle as much as we have loved making it!

Each candle is carefully handmade with care and attention so that you have a beautiful candle to love and enjoy. Your candle is made with a natural soy wax and presented in a beautiful clear glass. Whilst we do our best to minimise aesthetic imperfections during the making and curing process, but they can still happen and when they do, they are purely cosmetic and it will not affect the use or quality of your candle in any way.

We don’t believe in hiding your candles behind frosted or opaque glasses so that you don’t see these imperfections. To us it takes away the visual appeal and takes the stillness and mindful moments that you experience whilst you watch your candle flicker and burn away.

Here are some of our Frequently Asked Questions:

Your Soy Candles

What type of Candle Wax do you use?

We love Soy wax because it is natural and wonderful to work with. Unlike paraffin candle which are a by-product of Oil industry, Soy Wax is derived from the Soybean and is a vegetable wax.

For this reason, we happily welcome Soy Candles into our household and avoid paraffin candles. We only make products which we would personally use and we hope you love them as much as we do!

How do you Colour your Soy Candles?

Why Bother Colouring the Candles?

At Soapfullness, alongside creating beautiful smelling candles, we want to bring a bit of colour and happiness into your world. Remember the time that you saw a beautiful bright rainbow brighten up that dreary sky. Remember how magical it was? We want to achieve that same wonderful feeling when you look at your candle.

Candle Frosting

You may notice frosting on your candle, but please don’t worry this is normal process. This process occurs when the wax is trying to get back to its natural state and crystals form making the frost like appearance.  During the candle creating process and curing process we do our best to provide a stable environment to reduce the chances of this happening. Your candle is inspected before we send it you and be reassured that we only send candles out that we are truly proud of.

If candle frosting does occur to your candle please be aware that this is a natural process and not affect the quality of your candle. This natural process proves that your candle is made from natural wax, which we hope you love as much as we do.

We simply love working with Soy wax and creating colourful candles with beautiful scents from essential oils. The wick is made from cotton. Your candle is coloured using tiny amounts of eco and vegan friendly (and cruelty free) dyes.

We strongly recommend using your candle within 6 months as the likely hood of frosting increases with age.

Soy Candle Pull Aways

You may notice that around your glass the candle wax may slightly pull away leaving what looks to be wet spots. We do our best to minimise the chances of this happening through a lot of testing, maintaining a consistent making environments and also allowing the candles to cure.

However, as your wax cools, the candle wax will shrink slightly and pull away from the vessel wall. This gap can be tiny but the glass can act as a magnifier creating the illusion of an air bubble. There is no need to worry as it will not affect the performance of your candle. It is likely as the candle warms that these bubbles will disappear and it will not affect the quality of your beautiful candle.

If you go candle shopping go and inspect some of the main leading brands and it will be very likely that you find this process happen in their products too.
