New to Wax Melts?

Wax Mets are a great addition to any house. Their beautiful long fragrance throws alongside their ability to last much longer than candles, make them the perfect solution for home fragrance.

At Soapfullness our Wax Melts are currently handmade into bars of ten squares. You simply snap two squares from your wax bar and place them in your wax burner.

These two wax melt squares have the ability to provide + hours of beautiful home fragrance. At Soapfullness have a range of over 15 fragrances to try and this range is constantly growing.

Starting at £3.50 a bar this is an affordable way to have some wonderful home fragrance. We want you to get the best out of your wax melts which is why we have written ‘Guide to the best wax melts’ and we highly recommend that you read it.

When it comes to melting your wax melts you can chose either a ceramic tealight burner or an electric wax melt burner. Both wax melt burners provide wonderful scent throws but it depends on your circumstance as to which one that you choose.

Ceramic tealight wax melt burners need unscented tealights that last up to maximum of 4 hours.

Putting tealight in that last longer will mean that your wax melts may burn faster, which will result in having a stronger fragrance which will burn off faster meaning that your wax melts won’t last as long.

These burners aren’t made to withstand constant heat and may result in hairline fractures if they are misused.

Ceramic tealight burners are a great way to use wax melts. From lighting the match to watching the beautiful orange flame flicker away as you are surrounded by beautiful aromas.

They are simply beautiful and certainly make any room look and smell gorgeous.

Your other choice is an electric wax melt burner. Electric burners are a safter option as they don’t have an open flame. Simply find a safe spot for them to sit and plug them in. Ensure that they are placed well away from pets and children (including the wires!).

When it comes to electric burners you can usually choose between a 15-watt and a 40-watt wax  burner. The lower watt bulb will produce a lower heat which in turn means your wax melts last longer. The fragrance from your wax melts won’t burn off as quickly.

The larger watt bulb produces more heat which melts your wax melts faster resulting in the melts not lasting as long as they would in a 15-watt electric wax melt burner.

In this guide to using wax melts, we talk about choosing a wattage which is suitable for your room size. If you have a small room then the lower wattage will be a good choice.

However, if you’re using your wax melts in a large room the higher wattage or two wax melt burners might be required so that you get a nice home fragrance.

At Soapfullness we use Soy Wax and some amazing fragrances to help make your home smell amazing.

Soy Wax is a 100% natural wax derived from the Soy Bean. We love to use soy wax in our melts as it’s biodegradable and comes from natural resources.

Soy wax comes from renewable resources and is not dependent upon the unsustainable petroleum industry like paraffin wax.

Soy wax is known and loved for its long clean burns and fantastic scent throws. It burns slower and lasts much longer than paraffin waxes.

Although you will see a price difference between paraffin and soy wax melts, you will find the benefits of soy wax much greater than those that use paraffin wax.

The great dilemma between essential oils and fragrance oils. To put it simply we believe both have their place on the market for difference reasons.

Essential oils are amazing and that is why we have created our luxury candle range with them. They are a natural plant-based oil which have an array of health benefits.

Essential oils have the ability to help you stay focused to helping you have a calming night’s sleep, google has an array of scientific based information on all the positive effects of essential oils.

Essential oils are fantastic to work with and it can take time to make workable blends for our candles. The cost of essential oils is also much high than fragrance oils.

Fragrance oils aren’t natural. So, what is the point of them?

Fragrance oils are synthetically made from compounds which are not found in nature. This means that they can create blends which cannot be created or reproduced with essential oils.

Although fragrances are man-made, they can provider stronger scent throws and also last longer. Fragrances are also usually cheaper to purchase compared to essential oils.

So whilst essential oils and fragrance oils are different. Both have their place on the market for different reasons.

At the moment we just use fragrance oils in our wax melts, however as we grow, we will certainly create an aromatherapy wax melt range with essential oils.

We want our wax melts to look amazing and we do this by adding some eco friendly biodegradable glitter into our melts. The bio-glitter that we use is vegan friendly, GMO free and cruelty free.

On top of that the glitter is plastic free as it is made from vegetable starch. You can now enjoy a little glitter without the guilt of having a negative impact on our environment.

Wax melts are made to use for up to 4 hours at a time. As mentioned above consistent use over this time may cause damage or shorten the life span of the wax burner.

If you are working from home or want your home fragrance to last longer than 4 hours, it is worth considering an extra wax burner so that you can switch between.

If you are opting for a tealight wax burner you will need tealights and matches as well as a safe and secure space to place the wax burner.

Open flames are obviously a high fire risk so please ensure that you use you wax burner safely.

We are conscious of our environment and we don’t want to have a negative effect on it.

When it comes to packaging our wax melts, we always look to source packaging which has already been recycled and is able to be recycled again.

Our wax melts come in glassine bags which are compostable and recyclable. We do our best to print our labels on recycled paper.

We won’t ever consciously purchase plastic-based packaging. We may from time-to-time reuse packaging which has been sent to use by suppliers to avoid them going to landfill.

Wax Melts are fantastic as you can remelt them several times before having to change them. Once the fragrance isn’t as strong as you would like, it is time to change your wax melts.

Simply wait for the wax melts to cool down and you can gently scoop it out of the wax melt burner dish. This article will give you a few tips to easily get the wax out of your burner.

As we use Soy wax in our wax melts it makes it easy to get out. Soy wax is fairly soft in its solid state, which makes the clean up pretty easy and fairly mess free.

Please remember NOT to put your wax melt burner dish in the freezer as this sudden shock temperature change can cause stress fractures and will make it unsafe to use.

Our Wax Melts are a great way to enhance any room. Their beautiful aromas alongside their beautiful looks will certainly compliment any room.

Equally our soy melts are excellent value for money as they provide 60-90 hours of home fragrance for the cost of £3.50 a bar.
