Let’s talk Packaging

Soapfullness Packaging

We care about what we sell…. Let's Talk Packaging...

Our aim to make beautiful products that will bring a big smiles to your faces.  Whilst soap is perfect for keeping your hands clean, washing away germs and making your hands smell rather lovely. Our beautiful handmade candles have been made to surround your living space with delightful notes of essential oils, which we hope will provide you with moments of inner peace and stillness. Like you, we care greatly about our environment and we will do our best to ensure we minimise any negative impact that Soapfullness has on the planet.

We believe in reduce, reuse and recycle wherever possible. We hate single use plastics and the impact that they have on our planet, so we are ensuring that they are not included in our packaging.

If you think we could improve on our packaging, we are listening so please get in touch via our contact form and let us know how we can improve. Being a small start-up, we are learning, developing and evolving. Knowledge is power and we will happily listen to suggestions and feedback.

So, what is included in our packaging?

Postage boxes

Our single soap boxes are made from recycled paper and are 100% recyclable.

Our postage boxes are made from at least 75% recycled materials and are 100% recyclable, reusable and are biodegradable.

Packaging Fill

We use beautiful shredded kraft paper that is reusable, recyclable, and biodegradable. We try to ensure that our  suppliers are ISO, FSC,  PEFC certified.

Paper bubble wrap is used to help protect any glass. This paper is 100% recycled, and is also 100% recyclable with biodegradable materials.

Tissue Paper

The tissue paper that we use at Soapfullness is reusable, recyclable and degradable echoing above our supplier is ISO, FSC, or PEFC certified.

Ingredients Labels

Due to being a small start-up we have to be careful with costs. However, that does not mean that we have to fully compromise on our labels. When printing our labels, we use materials which have been recycled, are fully recyclable and are vegan friendly. The printer ink is again vegan friendly and certified for compostability.

Soap Wrapping

Soap from Soapfullness comes wrapped in Vegware greaseproof paper. Being a small start-up, we have to get ourselves off the ground before investing further into packaging. Like you we need an income to survive. Having researched the market this is one of the best packaging options that we could find. However, we totally understand that you should have packaging that you can easily recycle. With these wraps you can commercially recycle them, which is a positive but we understand is inconvenient. As we grow, we will be delving deeper into sustainable packing and find packaging which is affordable, keeps your soaps in its best condition and importantly is easy for you to recycle.

But what about the materials that you receive from your suppliers?

Whilst we understand that not all businesses adopt the environmental aspect of business or that certain products need to be wrapped a certain way, we do our upmost to store and reuse as much as we possibly can. For example, when we cure your candles, we reuse bubble wrap that we have received from suppliers to help insulate them and reduce the chances of candle frosting reoccurring.

Why is Soapfullness using Recycled Materials?

We chose to use recycled materials wherever we possible can. This means that we will help:

Reduce Landfill

By using recycled paper we will help to divert waste paper entering landfills which are already rapidly becoming full. Landfills are a source of Methane Emission which is a big contributor to global warming.

Keep up demand for Recycled Materials

If no one purchases recycled materials there would be no demand to reuse used materials. That means an increase in methane releasing waste which contributes towards climate change.

Reduces demand for Raw Materials

By using recycled materials, it means that less energy is used on sourcing and processing new raw materials. Using recycled materials reduces the need to grow, harvest or extract new raw materials from the Earth.

This then reduces the harmful disruption and damage done to our environment; fewer forests will be cut down, animals won’t be harmed or displaced and there will be less water, soil and air pollution.

Note: Very occasionally due to supply issues we might not be able to purchase materials that meet the environmental standards that we strive for. The only reason that we will allow this to occur is if we are unable to source the materials that meet our standards (and we will spend a considerable amount of time doing our best). As a small start up we don’t have the space to store large quantities of materials. If we are unable to source materials that we desire,  we will only purchase small quantities so that we can keep Soapfullness running and delivering your beautiful wax melts, self-care candles and hand bar soaps. We do want to reassure you that we will work very hard to maintain our packaging standards.
