What are Luxury Wax Melts?
At Soapfullness we adore Luxury Wax Melts because of their wonderful ability to make any room smell amazing, the ability to reuse and remelt several times before the fragrance burns off and for their affordability.
Luxury wax melts are like candles in many ways because they produce beautiful aromas, but unlike candles luxury wax melts do not have a wick and they do not evaporate.
Instead the fragrance is burnt off. So every time you come to use your luxury wax melts, the aromas will become more subtle until the scent has gone.
At Soapfullness we make our luxury Wax Melts in bars. Luxury wax melts are essentially pieces of soy wax which are infused with fragrance which you slowly burn using a wax melt burner (not an oil burner!).
Simply snap two squares from your luxury wax melt bar and you can have up to 12 hours of beautiful home fragrance.
We only recommend burning wax melts for 4 hours at a time to allow the burner to cool down and so that you don’t become too accustomed to the smell and not be able to notice it (Olfactory fatigue).
How long do Luxury Wax Melts Last?
Wax melts are amazing due to their affordability and their ability to last a long time. One wax melt bar can last up to 90 hours (approx..).
We recommend snapping two wax melt cubes from your bar and using for up to 4 hours at a time.
You can then remelt these cubes another 4/5 times before the fragrance burns off and you can then replace with another two cubes or a new fragrance.
It is important to only use your wax melt burner for up to 4 hours at a time as they are not made to withstand prolonged periods of heat. Always let your wax melt burner cool down for an hour or two before reusing. If you still want to enjoy your luxury wax melts, then purchase another wax melt burner and switch between the two.
If you exceed this time frame, it is likely that your wax melt burner will experience temperature stress and the likelihood of it fracturing or cracking increases considerably and so doe the risk of a fire.

How do we Fragrance Luxury Wax Melts?
Fragrance is a personal choice. Smell is closely linked to memory due to the areas of the brain it is routed to, which include the amygdala and the hippocampus, the regions related to emotion and memory.
Some people just want natural aromas from essential oils (we have a self-care candle range for this). Others enjoy fragrance oil aromas.
Both fragrance oils and essential oils both have their place within the market and this is why we use both for different purposes.
You will hear good and bad about both, depending on who is making what! There is plenty of information out there but at Soapfullness we believe that there is a place for both in the market.
Essential oils are naturally derived from plants. Whilst they are utterly beautiful, they can be costly, which is why products with essential oils are more expensive.
Fragrance oils are man-made (synthetic). Fragrance oils have their place on the market because essential oils can’t always make the aromas that we want or need them too. Great care is taken when it comes to producing fragrance oils and we only purchase from the best suppliers.
At the moment we use fragrance oils in our luxury wax melts because they are strong smelling, they bind to the wax very well and they also keep the cost down, which helps to make some self-care affordable.
As we grow, so will our beautiful handmade self-care range and luxury wax melts. This means that we will produce wax melts with essential oils as we know that people want the option of natural wax melts.
